Canada maintained its immigration record pace by welcoming 341,000 immigrants in the last year 2019. This is 5th time in its history that Canada has allowed higher than 300,000 immigrants in a single year, the other times include 1911 to 1913 and 2018.
Canada also surpassed the target that fixed in its 2019-21 Immigration Levels Plan (330,800 newcomers) by higher than 10,000 newcomers.
The nation is also attended to its plan by welcoming 58% of its immigrants below the economic class, while 27% arrived by the family sponsorship, and the outstanding 15% were welcomed below the refugee class.
