Quebec has made the announcement regarding the new declaration of interest system for economic immigration. This will come into effect from August 2nd, 2018. On the same date the higher investment requirements for the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program will also see come into force. These rules have the approval of the immigration authorities in Quebec and were announced by David Heurtel, the provincial Immigration Minister. He also said the new system, is similar to the federal Express Entry system, and will help to make the Quebec immigration become effective, modern, and efficient. Additionally it will also reduce the processing time for immigration applicants to less than twelve months. The Minister previously believes that the change is revolutionary and gives priority to skilled workers who meet the requirements of the labor market in Quebec.
